前日5日の米国株式市場は続伸。金利の上昇を嫌気し、寄り付き後、まちまち。ISM非製造業景況指数が予想を下回ったものの成長拡大圏を維持しダウは上昇に転じた。ハイテクが堅調で相場を支え、さらに、早期利上げ警戒感の後退で相場は終日堅調に推移した。米株式市場の動向を横目に、6日の日経平均は7.75円高の69954.61円と続伸して取引を開始した。前日の米国株高と早期利上げ警戒の後退が支えとなったが、前日に1,600円超上昇した反動で高値警戒感も意識され、寄り付きは前日終値近辺で始まった。その後は半導体関連中心に指数を押し上げるも、前日に大きく上昇した値がさ株の一角には利益確定売りが出て、70,000円台での小動きとなった。ただ、後場以降は、半導体関連中心に引き続き堅調に推移、じりじりと上げ幅を広げる展開となり結果的に高値付近で取引を終了した。終値で7万円台を回復するのは7月1日以来3カ月ぶりで、外国為替市場で円安・ドル高で推移していることも輸出関連銘柄の追い風となった。
大引けの日経平均は前日比737.12円高の70,683.98円となった。東証プライム市場の売買高21億3,700万株、売買代金は7兆3,048億円だった。業種別では、非鉄金属、精密機器、銀行業などが上昇した一方で、情報・通信業、建設業、空運業の3業種のみが下落した。東証プライム市場の値上がり銘柄は74.2％、対して値下がり銘柄は22.4％となっている。
