弊社CEO兼研究主幹苫米地英人博士は、米国George Mason大学C4I and Cyber研究所の客員教授に就任致しました。
George Mason大学C4I and Cyber Center [正式名称 The Center for Excellence in Command, Control, Communications, Computing, Intelligence (C Quadruple I) and Cyber]("防衛指揮・統制・通信・コンピュータ・情報 (C4I)・サイバー研究所")は、情報技術とサイバーセキュリティの軍事応用総合教育と研究を遂行する全米の民間大学で唯一の機関です。

同研究所は、大学メインキャンパスのバージニア州Fairfaxにあり、ワシントンD.C.近郊に位置していることからも、米国防総省と緊密な研究機関であり、苫米地が研究プロジェクトに参加する元国防次官補兼国防総省CIOのLinton Wells教授を始めとする現役、退役の米軍幹部が多数在籍している米国防の最先端研究機関の一つです。

苫米地は主に、サイバーレジリエンス(Cyber Resilience)、サイバーインテリジェンス(Cyber Intelligence)、サイバー人工知能防衛(Cyber AI Warfare)、認知戦防衛 (Cognitive Warfare)領域の研究並びに指導に従事します。早速、第1回のCyber AI分野での講義を各分野専門家並びに大学院生出席のもと開催致しました。

George Mason University C4I and Cyber Center は、軍事指揮系統並びに情報系統全体に加えてサイバー防衛を研究する統合研究機関であり、米国のサイバー防衛の研究拠点の一つでもあり、特に国防総省が推進するサイバー分野におけるサイバーレジリエンス、サイバーインテリジェンス、更に宇宙に次ぐ新ドメインであるコグニティブウォーフェアなどの最新領域の国防研究で全米をリードしています。

もう一つの米サイバー防衛研究拠点機関であるカーネギーメロン大学 (Carnegie Mellon University) CyLabでも、苫米地は、Adjunct Fellow (兼任フェロー)を2008年より続けており、こちらは今後も継続してまいります。

カーネギーメロン大学は、米国の計算機科学、人工知能分野で、全米ランキングトップを30年以上独走しており、苫米地がフェローを務めるCyLabは、特に超並列人工知能によるサイバー防衛とホワイトハッカー養成で全米をリードしています。800チーム以上が全世界から参加するCapture The Flag最高峰のDefConもCyLabの学生チームが常勝しています。苫米地はこの分野でもGeorge Masonでの教育プログラム拡充に協力を予定しています。

苫米地は、カーネギーメロン大学より博士(Ph.D.)を1993年に授与されています。今後も、カーネギーメロン大学に合わせて、ジョージメイソン大学C4Iサイバー研究所の日本国内リエゾンとしての活動も行う予定です。日本国内の教育機関並びに関係各機関に対しての最先端のサイバー防衛教育の導入のご支援も計画しています。

Dr. Hideto Tomabechi, CEO and Principal Scientist of Cognitive Research Laboratories has been appointed Visiting Professor at The Center for Excellence in Command, Control, Communications, Computing, Intelligence and Cyber (C4I and Cyber Center) at George Mason University.
The C4I and Cyber Center at George Mason University is America’s first and only civilian university-based entity offering a comprehensive academic and research program in military applications of information technology and cyber security.
Dr. Tomabechi will be joining the research projects headed by Dr. Linton Wells, II, Executive Advisor for the C4I & Cyber Center. Dr. Wells is a Visiting Distinguished Research Fellow in the Institute for National Strategic Studies at National Defense University. He also served as Assistant Secretary (acting) and DoD Chief Information Officer. In 26 years of naval service, Dr. Wells commanded a destroyer squadron and a guided missile destroyer.
Dr. Hideto Tomabechi has been an Adjunct Fellow at CyLab, Carnegie Mellon University since 2008, and he will be continuing this assignment as well.
Dr. Hideto Tomabechi received his Ph.D from Carnegie Mellon University in 1993.
