27日の米国株式市場は続伸。トランプ大統領やベッセント財務長官の発言を受け、対中通商合意への期待が広がった。加えて、人工知能（AI）関連銘柄を中心としたハイテク株が買われたほか、翌日から開催される連邦公開市場委員会（FOMC）での追加利下げ観測も支援材料となった。終盤にかけて買いが強まり、主要指数はいずれも過去最高値を更新して取引を終えた。米株式市場の動向を横目に、28日の日経平均は反落して取引を開始した。序盤は半導体やハイテク関連の一角に買いが入り下げ幅を縮小する場面もあったが、為替が円高方向に振れたことや、利益確定売りが優勢となったことから上値は限定的だった。前日までの上昇に伴う戻り待ちの売りも重しとなり、終日さえない値動きとなったが、50000円台を維持して大引けを迎えた。
大引けの日経平均は前日比293.14円安の50219.18円となった。東証プライム市場の売買高は22億9292万株、売買代金は5兆8852億円、業種別では情報・通信業のみ値上がりし、金属製品、繊維製品、建設業が値下がり率上位となっている。東証プライム市場の値上がり銘柄は5.5%、対して値下がり銘柄は93.4%となっている。
