22日の米国株式市場は下落した。背景には、米政府機関の閉鎖が終了する兆しが見えないなか、ネットフリックスの決算に基づく失望売りのほか、トランプ政権が中国向けに重要ソフトウエア製品の輸出制限を検討しているとの報道を受け、米中貿易摩擦の悪化懸念が強まったことがあり、ハイテク中心に売りが優勢となった。米株式市場の動向を横目に、23日の日経平均は441.21円安の48866.58円と続落して取引を開始した。寄付き直後から輸出関連を中心に売りが先行し、ドル・円相場は152円近辺で推移しており、円安を背景とする輸出株支援の動きも限定的にとどまった。また、国内では期末に向けたポジション調整と見られる売り注文が出やすかったほか、海外投資家の国内株買い越し継続も相場への下押し要因となったとの見方もあり、終日48500円付近をもみ合うさえない値動きとなった。
大引けの日経平均は前日比666.18円安の48641.61円となった。東証プライム市場の売買高は20億9277万株、売買代金は5兆1011億円、業種別では情報・通信業、証券・商品先物取引業、電気機器などが値下がり率上位、鉱業、不動産業、パルプ・紙が値上がり率上位となっている。東証プライム市場の値上がり銘柄は59.6%、対して値下がり銘柄は37.0%となっている。
