4日の米国市場は反落。ダウ平均は97.55ドル安（-0.25%）の38989.83ドル、ナスダックは67.43ポイント安（-0.41%）の16207.51、S&P500は6.13ポイント安（-0.12%）の5130.95で取引を終了した。米連邦準備制度理事会（FRB）の利下げを急がない姿勢を受けた長期金利の上昇を嫌気し、寄り付き後、下落。ダウは終日軟調に推移した。ハイテクは引き続き人工知能（AI）関連の強い需要を期待した買いが支え、一時プラス圏を回復し全体相場を支援。しかし、アトランタ連銀のボスティック総裁が年2回の利下げ予想を示し慎重姿勢を再表明すると、終盤にかけ利益確定売りが強まり、再び下落し終了した。
米国株の下落を受けて、東京市場は売り優勢で取引を開始。日経平均は40000円を割り込んでスタートしたが、売り一巡後は40000円台を回復し、一時切り返す場面も見られた。半導体株の上げは一服したものの、トヨタ自<a href="https://web.fisco.jp/platform/companies/0720300?fm=mj" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">＜7203＞</a>のほか、銀行株、建設株などバリュー株が買われたことからTOPIXは切り返す動き。プライム市場の売買代金は4営業日連続で5兆円台と引き続き商い活況となった。
大引けの日経平均は前日比11.60円安（-0.03%）の40097.63円となった。東証プライム市場の売買高は17億4166万株、売買代金は5兆1039億円だった。セクター別では、倉庫・運輸関連業、サービス業、海運業、不動産業、化学などが下落した一方、建設業、証券・商品先物取引業、鉱業、銀行業、機械などが上昇した。東証プライム市場の値上がり銘柄は56％、対して値下がり銘柄は40％となっている。
日経平均採用銘柄では、アドバンテスト<a href="https://web.fisco.jp/platform/companies/0685700?fm=mj" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">＜6857＞</a>、スクリーンHD<a href="https://web.fisco.jp/platform/companies/0773500?fm=mj" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">＜7735＞</a>、レーザーテック<a href="https://web.fisco.jp/platform/companies/0692000?fm=mj" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">＜6920＞</a>など半導体銘柄の一角が上げ一服となったほか、ディー・エヌ・エー<a href="https://web.fisco.jp/platform/companies/0243200?fm=mj" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">＜2432＞</a>、エムスリー<a href="https://web.fisco.jp/platform/companies/0241300?fm=mj" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">＜2413＞</a>、東京建物<a href="https://web.fisco.jp/platform/companies/0880400?fm=mj" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">＜8804＞</a>、エーザイ<a href="https://web.fisco.jp/platform/companies/0452300?fm=mj" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">＜4523＞</a>、TOTO<a href="https://web.fisco.jp/platform/companies/0533200?fm=mj" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">＜5332＞</a>が売られた。
一方、配当方針変更に伴う増配を発表したことから大林組<a href="https://web.fisco.jp/platform/companies/0180200?fm=mj" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">＜1802＞</a>がストップ高。大林組の急騰が刺激材料となり、鹿島<a href="https://web.fisco.jp/platform/companies/0181200?fm=mj" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">＜1812＞</a>、大成建設<a href="https://web.fisco.jp/platform/companies/0180100?fm=mj" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">＜1801＞</a>、清水建設<a href="https://web.fisco.jp/platform/companies/0180300?fm=mj" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">＜1803＞</a>も買われた。このほか、フジクラ<a href="https://web.fisco.jp/platform/companies/0580300?fm=mj" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">＜5803＞</a>、コマツ<a href="https://web.fisco.jp/platform/companies/0630100?fm=mj" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">＜6301＞</a>、富士通<a href="https://web.fisco.jp/platform/companies/0670200?fm=mj" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">＜6702＞</a>が買い優勢となった。
